About Department

 

     Department of Marathi has been established in 1963. From 1963 under graduate department has been started and Post graduate department has been started from 1993. The department has 02 fulltime faculties and 01 contributory faculty. The department has done two memorandum of understanding. One of this is with Shivaji Vidyapeeth Marathi Shikshak Sangh, Kolhapur and another with Bharatmata Dyanpeeth, Vita. In the year 2019-20, student strength is nearly 489. Faculties of department has attended 75 seminars including conferences. In the departmental library, there is 178 books with periodicals.

The department has run a short term course named “Gramin Patrakarita aani Jansanvad Pramanpatra Abhyaskram” from last 04 years. Two faculties of the department are M.Phil. and Ph.D. guide. Therefore 09 students are Ph.D. awarded and 05 students are doing this degree also. In the same case 09 students are awarded M.Phil. degree and 02 are doing this degree. One students has been awarded through Rajiv Gandhi National fellowship. 03 students are NET qualified. 01 student is university ranker. This is the brief history of Marathi department

 Objectives

  • To create interest about Marathi language among the student.
  • To develop their skills and abilities in regards to the language in different fields.
  • To make them aware of the culture and social thought literature.
