ABOUT FOUNDER

Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil (1887-1959) founded the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha in 1919 at the village Kale in Satara district.Mahatma Phule and Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj were role models before him.Realizing the need of spread of education for the masse,,he started schools and hostels in villages. Hostels ,training colleges ,voluntary primary schools ,secondary schools and finally colleges at Taluka places.His work proceeded in that order answering the needs of the lower strata of society .He had his own vision and educational philosophy which comprised education for all, regardless of his her financial status

Education through self was his magic mantra which revolutionized the rural Maharashtra. The students earned education through manual labour which was special feature of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. Life together with students of different religious orientations automatically eradicated distinctions and helped create a sense of solidarity between them. Karmaveer created many selfless workers, many of whom assumed responsibilities as Life Works. The Sanstha was, till date, is run by the employees who are essentially its office bearers. The Rayat Shikshan Sanstha with its glorious track record will be celebrating its hundred years of existance in 2019.The Sanstha has announced and undertaken various projects keeping in view the contemporary scenario of education by insisting on technological revolution fostering the knowledge society to keep pace with changing times.
