About Department The Department of History is one of the academic Departments of our college. It's launched U.G.1965 & P.G.2011. The Department of History promotes the study of History, Society & Culture of Maharashtra, India & the Entire World. It Undertakes Teaching, Research & Extension activities as well as creates awareness among the Students about Historical places, Cultural Tourism & Religious places etc.. The department runs value added course, 'Social Work Education' under Lifelong Education center, Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Department also run Certificate courses 'Archaeology' & 'Tourism in History'. The prime motive of these courses is to inculcate Human values among the Students, to Study Archaeological Documents as well as undertake Historical Research. Through this courses, to create various employment opportunities for the students and create interest among the students about historical places. The Department organizes activities like Poster presentation, Wallpaper, Seminars, Guest Lectures & Study tours at various Historical Places. The Best practice of the Department is Preservation & Conservation of Historical monuments, forts & Temples & Cleaning Campaign.
